Licensing

Overview

A Pro license unlocks the Pro add-on’s features: the monthly return report, corrections ledger, CSV exports, reduced-rate mapping, the customs data layer, shipping integrations, VIES B2B exclusion, and the monthly digest. Your license is managed through Lemon Squeezy, and activation happens inside your WordPress admin.

Plans

There are two plans — Pro (single site) and Agency (unlimited sites). Both include the same features; the only difference is how many sites the license activates on. Current prices are on the plugin page.

Installing the Pro add-on

Pro is a separate add-on plugin that runs alongside the free plugin — the free plugin stays installed from WordPress.org and provides the foundation. After you purchase:

  1. Make sure the free EU VAT IOSS plugin is installed and active (see Getting started).
  2. From your purchase confirmation email or your Lemon Squeezy account, download the Pro add-on .zip and copy your license key.
  3. In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the Pro .zip, click Install Now, then Activate.

Activating your license

  1. Go to the license screen under WooCommerce → IOSS.
  2. Enter your license key (xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx) and click Activate.
  3. The screen switches to Pro is active, showing your plan, an obfuscated key, and the renewal date.

All Pro features are available immediately. The plugin re-validates the license in the background once a week; if the license server is temporarily unreachable, your cached status is kept — a server hiccup never disables a valid license. Re-entering the same key on the same site (after a renewal, for example) re-validates the existing activation rather than consuming another slot.

Moving to another site

Deactivate first: on the license screen, click Deactivate license and confirm. That frees the activation slot so the key can be used on the new site.

Renewals and your subscription

The subscription is managed through Lemon Squeezy. From the customer portal — linked in your purchase confirmation email, or by logging into Lemon Squeezy with your purchase email — you can update your payment method, download invoices, and cancel or pause renewal. After a renewal, the weekly background check picks the new period up on its own; Check license status on the license screen does it immediately.

When a license expires

If the subscription lapses, Pro features stop running: reports, corrections, exports, reduced-rate resolution, the customs snapshot on new orders, integrations, VIES checks, and the digest are disabled until you reactivate. Three things are deliberately preserved:

  • Your data. Captured order meta, monthly aggregates, the corrections ledger, product HS codes and origins, and all settings are kept — everything resumes when you renew.
  • Imported tax rates. They are ordinary WooCommerce rates and keep charging; they just stop being maintained.
  • The free plugin. Eligibility, checkout VAT, ECB conversion, the dashboard, and filing reminders are unaffected — free never checks a license.

Refunds

The refunds policy applies as stated on the pricing section of the plugin page — if Pro does not fit your store, contact us within the stated window for a refund.

Troubleshooting activation

  • “That doesn’t look like a valid license key” — copy the full key from the confirmation email, no surrounding spaces.
  • “Activation limit reached” — deactivate on a site you no longer use; re-entering the key on an already-activated site does not consume a slot.
  • Connection errors — your server must be able to make outbound HTTPS requests to the Lemon Squeezy API; some hosts block external calls.
  • Shows expired despite an active subscription — click Check license status to force a fresh check.
