Reports & calendar

Overview

The Overview tab at Products → Expirations is your reporting dashboard. It gives you an at-a-glance picture of expiration across your whole catalog — summary stats, a filterable product list, and a month calendar — without opening individual products. It’s included in the free version.

Statistics

At the top of the page, stat cards summarize your catalog:

  • Products with expiration dates — how many products you’re tracking.
  • Expiring soon — products expiring within your expiring-soon threshold.
  • Expired — products whose date has already passed.
  • Value at risk — the stock value of products expiring within the expiring-soon window, so you can see the money tied up in soon-to-expire inventory. (This figure follows your configured expiring-soon threshold, not a fixed number of days.)

Filter tabs

Below the stats, a product table lists your dated products. Tabs filter the table:

  • All — every product with an expiration date.
  • Expiring soon — products within the expiring-soon window. In-stock only (out-of-stock items are excluded, matching what shoppers can still buy).
  • Expired — products already past their date, including out-of-stock ones.
  • Specific date — clicking a day in the calendar (below) filters the table to that exact date.

The table is sortable and paginated; when several products share the same date they’re ordered consistently so pages never overlap or drop a row.

Expiration calendar

The calendar shows a month view with a count on each day indicating how many products expire on that date.

  • Use the arrows to move between months.
  • Click any day to load that day’s products into the table above (the Specific date view).
  • Per-day counts are computed in your site’s timezone and cover your entire catalog, even on large stores.

How variable products are counted

Reports show one row per product. A variable product appears as a single entry, dated by its earliest variation date (or its default date if it only has a default set) — it is not listed once per variation, so counts and the calendar aren’t inflated. A variable product that’s dated only through its inherited default date still appears, so nothing is missed.

Exporting what you see

The Export button on the Import / Export page produces a CSV that matches the active tab — the same date filter and the same out-of-stock rules — so an “Expiring soon” export contains exactly the products on that tab. See Import & export for the file format.

Dashboard widget

The plugin also adds an Expiring products widget to your main WordPress Dashboard, listing your soonest-expiring products so you see what needs attention as soon as you log in — without visiting the Overview tab. It uses the same expiring-soon threshold and skips variations whose parent product isn’t published.
